Atlanta
offers plenty of nighttime entertainment for everyone, with
numerous music and dance clubs, cabarets, theaters, taverns and
bars. Although Atlanta nightlife encompasses the whole city,
with popular locations in almost every neighborhood, there are
three main districts that, together, define nightlife in
Atlanta.
The neighborhood of Buckhead is extremely popular among
twenty-something partiers and area college students. In fact,
the whole area practically becomes one giant fraternity party at
night, especially on weekends. Little Five Points caters more
toward the artsy types, giving off that esoteric, almost exotic
vibe. Both young and old are found with elbows over mahogany
here. Virginia-Highlands is for those somewhat young and sassy
professionals. Here, bar patrons are chic and slick and you’ll
here a lot of conversation about work floating through the air.
If
you’d like to spend a night out in downtown Atlanta, there is
a small but popular area of bars and clubs in the vicinity of
Peachtree Center. This is where you’ll find all the
conventioneers and tourists who are staying in the downtown
area.
If
it’s hot jazz or slinky blues you desire, Atlanta offers many
choices. Many of the clubs like Churchill Grounds and Blind
Willie’s host top-name entertainers. Other clubs like the
Punchline Comedy Club feature headline acts as well as impromptu
entertainment. Dance clubs such as Club Kaya allow the visitor
to experience a variety of music and dance, as this club is
known for keeping abreast of the hottest and latest trends. Your
choice of Latin, Hip-Hop, House or whatever else your into is
available at one of the many dance clubs in Atlanta. Perhaps the
most popular club in Atlanta is the Masquerade. The club is
divided into three floors: Heaven, Hell and Purgatory, all of
which are distinctively and appropriately decorated. Dance all
night in Hell, slug down a weird shot in Purgatory or catch a
live performance by internationally known musical acts.
