The Centennial Olympic Stadium was the staging center of the majority of the 31 Olympic events, which occurred in Atlanta during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. Here were held the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics. The 85,000-seat stadium was renamed Turner Field after Atlanta’s own Ted Turner and is now the permanent home of the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team.
