  Overview

High Museum of Art and High Museum of Art Folk and Photography Galleries are two of Atlanta’s jewels. The prestigious High Museum of Art, located in the Woodruff Center in Midtown, displays European and American paintings, African, decorative and 20th century art; photography; graphics; traveling exhibits by artists such as Picasso, Matise, Monet and Norman Rockwell. The Museum also houses the “Learning to Look/Looking to Learn” exhibit and an interactive gallery. An important work to view outside the Richard Maier-designed museum is a bronze sculpture by Auguste Rodin, cast in 1968 and given to the museum by the French government in memory of 122 Georgians who died in a l962 Paris plane crash
