“The
Beverly Hills of the South” got its name over 150 years ago when
a buck’s head was displayed in front of a tavern at Peachtree
and Paces Ferry roads. Known not only for the beautiful homes on
rolling, wooded lands but this neighborhood, located north of
Midtown, is also known as the shopping center of the Southeast.
Buckhead has the greatest dining rooms in Georgia and some of the
best nightspots in Atlanta. This community also boasts the largest
Presbyterian and Episcopalian congregations in the United States
and is the home of Atlanta History Center
and Georgia Governor’s
Mansion.
