Overview
Now in its 56th season, the Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performs over 230 times annually for over a half million music lovers. The recent appointments of Robert Spano as Music Director Designate and Donald Runnicles as Guest Conductor Designate are the results of a two-year search. The pair have each conducted several concerts this year separately with favorable reviews. Taking their positions in September of 2001, the duo is expected to improve the already prominent Orchestra.
From its home in Midtown’s Woodruff Arts Center, the ASO performs Classical Master Season Concerts, Champagne and Coffee Concerts and Family Concerts in Atlanta Symphony Hall from May to September and Classic Chastain Concerts at Chastain Park Amphitheatre from June to August.
