Overview
The oldest continually operating ballet in the United States, the Atlanta Ballet got its start in l929 by Dorothy Alexander and later evolved into the Atlanta Civic Ballet in l940. The ballet then gained professional status in l967 under the new and now current name, the Atlanta Ballet. Touring across the globe, the ballet performs classical and contemporary works, performing at the Fox Theatre in Midtown and Robert Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech.
